RED BLUFF, California – A Tehama County judge ruled Tuesday morning that a 48-year-old Red Bluff man deserves to be paid for the 15 years he spent in prison after being wrongfully convicted.
Tehama County Superior Court Judge Matthew McGlynn said that ____ ____ was “factually innocent” of the child molestation charges that landed him a 24-year prison sentence and is thereby entitled to monetary compensation.
____ will “automatically” receive more than $750,500 – about $140 for each day he was imprisoned — in light of McGlynn’s ruling, his attorney from the Northern California Innocence Project said. Full Article
The “victims” in question felt intimidated and coersed by authorities to lie about what really happened. While these “authority” people thought they were doing a stellar job by getting the kids to agree to a made up story, they were, in fact, deficating on the rights of an individual and the constitution. Perhaps the all knowing law enforcement people who forced the kids to lie should spend an equal number of years in prison, lose their jobs and retirement and go onto some state-wide liar registry. The harm they caused this man is far greater than the pittance he received from the state.
